A new summer of bowls begins at Westbourne Gardens, Trowbridge on Saturday 13 April at 2 o’clock.
Bowls is a game for all ages and players from 8 to 80+ are welcomed at Westbourne to enjoy friendly or competitive games of bowls with family or friends in a relaxed and pleasant environment. Why not give our game, and us, a try on 15th April, or on any Saturday morning between 10 and 12 for free? It has been a long winter, but on 10th April Westbourne Bowls Club opens for the 2021 season. Bowlers old and new will be enjoying friendly games at a friendly club and Westbourne is pleased to welcome all new members, aged between age 8 and 80, from complete beginners (coaching is available) to long time players.
If, during lockdown, you have been looking for a sport offering exercise at a relaxed pace, competition with other like minded individuals, or are seeking a new pastime, bowls may be the answer for you. We are very pleased to report that we are back on the BOWLS GREEN at Westbourne. There are still COVID-19 restrictions in place but help is available for anyone wanting to try our sport. We regret that, due to the present pandemic, Westbourne will be deferring the opening of our green, and consequently delaying our playing season, until further notice. Like everyone, we hope that the situation will soon be resolved, and we wish our Members, friends and colleagues good health and best wishes.

We have just returned from an eight game tour playing indoor bowls at Torquay where we won six games and enjoyed good bowling, good food and good company. We now look forward to our Christmas Lunch and Trophy Presentation event next month.

Having spent the winter at Club whist drives and quizzes, we look forward to Friday 29th March when we will get together for our preseason meeting. Then, 15 days later on Saturday 13th April, we shall venture onto the bowling green for the first time this year.
